Brunswick county Deed book B page 435. 1.) February 16th 1790 Dennis Hankins deeded to his son in law Needham Gause and his daughter Elizabeth Gause 4 enslaved persons from amongst a portion allotted to them. The names are the four enslaved persons were Cudjo, Hannah and her child Chloe and Peggy. 2.) November 7th 1789 William Gause deeded his daughter Mary Bellume 4 enslaved persons namely Lidia, Linda/Linder, Hannah and Ireland. 3.) November 5th 1789 William Gause deeded to his son Needham Gause 8 enslaved persons named Charles, Bob, Brockley/Brookley, Agnes, Maria, Lydia, Nancy and Harry.
