From page 59 of Pitt County Graveyards:  "The following three stones (John Hardee, Susannah Hardee, Isaac Hardee) are of dark slate, well preserved and in beautiful script.  They are the first owners of this property. John and Susanna Hardee owned this property on Hardee's Run and owned the home in which the first courts of Pitt County were held. Members of the court were fed at their table.  Mr. Charles Wilkerson, Funeral Director, says these slate stones came from England."

The graveyard is located at the corner of the 2700 block of E 10th Street and 1000 block of Williams Avenue, beside 2712 E 10th Street in Greenville, NC.
