Mr. Thadius Bisco (Joe) Todd Jr., 73, of 296 Meansville Road, Brittany Manor, Apt. B-3, husband of Catherine Barnett Todd, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Wallace Thomson Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Todd was born in Loris, S. C., on July 4, 1929, a son of the late Thadius B. Todd Sr. and Elizabeth Prince Todd.
He was retired from Milliken & Co. Monarch Plant, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Todd was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where he was a member of the United Methodist Men's Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine T. and Andy Pettit of Union; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Elsie Todd of Union; four grandchildren, Brian Davis, Todd Davis, Daniel Todd, and Christie Hall; five great-grandchildren, Emily Todd, Christopher Todd, Bennett Davis, Damion Hall and Lexie Hall.
Mr. Todd was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. today at Bethel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Don Alexander.Burial was in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers were J. B. Lane, George Schreiber, Robin Owings, Steve Freeman, Joey Shetley and James Shetley.
The body remained at the funeral home where the family received friends Sunday night from 7 until 9. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 1705 Lockhart Highway, Union, S. C. 29379. The family is at the home, 296 Meansville Road, Brittany Manor, Apt. B-3. The S. R. Holcombe Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
