MULLINS - Services for H. Gordon Fowler, 77, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, February 21 at Cox-Collins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Kirkland and the Rev. Jason Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Cedardale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-9 this evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mullins First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 443, Mullins, SC 29574.

Mr. Fowler, husband of Frances McIntyre Fowler, died Wednesday, February 19, 2003 in Marion County Medical Center after an illness. Born August 2, 1925 in Marion County, he was a son of the late R. Monroe Fowler Sr. and the late Mattie Gordon Fowler. He had retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and was a Mason. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Pee Dee Senior Golf Association. He was a member of Mullins First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Anglers Bible Class. Mr. Fowler was first married to the late Elmyre Dunahoe Fowler. Surviving are his wife of the home; daughters, Dale Fowler of Mullins and Jeanne Fowler Stiglbauer and her husband, K.C., of Columbia; grandsons, Carter Stiglbauer, Case Stiglbauer and Grayson Stiglbauer; brother, Herbert Fowler and his wife, Myrna, of Mullins; sisters, Vicky Fowler of Mullins, Mattie Lee Fowler of Mullins and Mrs. Charles (Eunice) Graham of Greenville; mother-in-law, Fearless H. Dunahoe of Johnsonville; sister-in-law, Geraldine Fowler of Mullins; stepdaughters, Elizabeth Hunt of Fayetteville, N.C. and Mary Anne Chance of Savannah; two stepgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Fowler was predeceased by brothers, R.M. Fowler Jr. and Robert Clyde Fowler and a sister, Tynee Fowler.
