Albert B. Todd Sr.

LORIS Albert Benjamin Todd Sr., 89, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at Loris Community Hospital after an illness.

He was born August 8, 1912, in Longs, SC, a son of the late Oscar Ethel and Docia Marlowe Todd. He was the retired owner/operator of Bonnie Bay Blueberry Farm and attended Clemson University, where he played football. He was also a retired agricultural teacher, a member of the Civitans, the Gideons, the Full Gospel Business Mens Fellowship International and an active life member of Loris First United Methodist Church, where he served on many committees and was a longtime member of the church choir.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Medlin Todd; two sons, Ben Todd and his wife, Carolyn, of Loris, the Rev. Dr. Steven M. Todd and his wife, Diana, of Andrews; two daughters, Suzanne Gore and her husband, Al, of Tabor City, N.C. and Beabe Beaty and her husband, David, of Chester; a brother, O.D. Todd and his wife, Emily, of Columbia; a sister, Sallie T. Bethea of Florence; nine grandchildren; Frann Rivenbark and her husband, Bryan, Bert Todd and his wife, Jacquelyn, Devon Beaty , Cameron Beaty , Aggie Lou Todd, Hannah S. Todd, Dianna Grace Todd, Matthew Gore and Alex Elizabeth Gore; and three great-grandchildren; Meredith Todd Rivenbark, Whit Rivenbark and Emily Grace Todd.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Frances Johnson Todd, and two sisters, Rosanell T. Fisher and Florene ``Susie'' T. Shooter.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Hardwick Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Loris First United Methodist Church. The Revs. David Bauknight and Carl Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Patterson Cemetery.
