Edmund was baptized on either June 23, 1599 or Oct 23, 1599 (the church records show both dates in 2 different hands; NEHGS "Register", Vol 50 pg 415).  In his father's will of Aug 1, 1599, he received, after the decease of his stepmother Anne, all his father's houses and lands, as well as seven acres called "Ryes" where Edmund was residing at the time, and "...my Sherman's Occupation...", likely having to do with his business as a clothier.

He may have immigrated without his wife who came over later with one or more childrein in 1637.  He was a Freeman at Watertown, Massachusetts May 25, 1636; he was at Wethersfield in 1635 and went to new Haven where he died in 1643.

His will and inventory are missing from New Haven records, although they are referred to in New Haven Colony records, Vol 1 Pag 52 "3 Mon 1541.  An Inventory and will of Olde Father Shirman was delivered into Court."
