Mae C. Hardee

CONWAY -- Mae C. Hardee, 96, widow of Willie Oliver Hardee, of the Good Hope community, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003.

She was born in Conway, a daughter of the late Austin and Tola Todd Chestnut and was raised by her grandparents.

She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be missed by everyone.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Bath Causey; four sons, Elbert Causey, George Hardee, H.B. Hardee and Oliver Hardee Jr.; and a daughter, Gen Lilly.

Survivors include two sons, John Vernon Causey and his wife, Lois, and Carl Causey and his wife, Juanita, all of Conway; six daughters, Elise Booth, Myrtle Dorman, Hazel Singleton and her husband, Alvin, Jo Stevens and her husband, Paul, Della Buddin and her husband, Bill, all of Conway and Sylvia Booth and her husband, Buster, of Loris; two daughters-in-law, Arlene Hardee of Laurinburg, N.C., and Allene Hardee of Florence; two sisters, Geneva Brown of Longs and Pauline Prince of Columbia; 34 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Good Hope Baptist Church. The Rev. Henry Yarborough and the Rev. Van Loomis will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
