Shirley Ann Chestnut Roberts, age 79, wife of the late James E. Roberts, Jr., passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Reflections Assisted Living.

She was born in Conway, SC, a daughter of the late Leo Foster and Alice Orilla Anderson Chestnut. In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by her brother; Harold Chestnut; and two sisters, Betty Jo Causey and Marion Lee Garris.

Mrs. Roberts was a member of First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by AVX Ceramics for over 37 years. Mrs. Roberts was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother.

Survivors include her three children; Deidra Ann Connor and her husband Marty of Conway, Sue Beth Ammons of Marion, SC, Scott Foster Roberts of Beaufort, SC; six grandchildren, Shannah Beth Edwards, Brandi Simpson, Laura Johnson Kioki, Justin Roberts, Caitlin Roberts, Ashley Connor; four great grandchildren, Gracie Rhea Edwards, Ollie Teru Kioki, Briggs Simpson, Bryce Simpson; and two brothers, Eugene Chestnut and Billy Chestnut.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Sonny Clardy officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
