Mr. O'Bryan Cox
September 12, 1931 - October 7, 2012
Mr. O'Bryan Cox, age 81, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 at McLeod Loris Hospital following an illness. Born on September 12, 1931 in Loris, SC, he was the son of Mr. Mack Norton Cox and Mrs. Nina Rebecca Russ Cox.
Mr. Cox was a retired farmer and a longtime member of Simpson Creek Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. He was also very active in the community, serving on the Simpson Creek Watershed for forty-five years, the Farm Bureau Board for twenty years and the School Advisory Board for twelve years.
Survivors include his wife, Frances T. Cox of the home; three sons, Roger Cox and wife, Karen and Tommy Cox and wife, Christina all of Loris and Myron Cox and wife, Tammy of North Myrtle Beach, SC; one brother, Luria Cox and wife, Gerri of Conway, SC, one sister, Geniece Norris and husband, Lynwood of Tabor City, NC; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Mr. Cox was predeceased by two brothers, T.P. Cox and Wilbur Cox and two sisters, Esta Gause and Nancy Barnhill.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Simpson Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder George Paul and Rev. Mack Hutson officiating. Committal services will follow at Twin City Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 6 until 8 PM at Hardwick Funeral Home.
